She has always enjoyed meeting people and experiencing new things, and as a child, she would willingly friend just about anyone, though she learned the hard way shortly after arriving to Hogwarts that such a thing wasn't always possible in the wizarding world due to house and blood divisions. Most consider her to be a wonderful friend because she is very sensitive to the moods and emotional states of others, as well as a fantastic listener. However, Lily is prone to a terrible temper when riled, when all sweet and loving things about her disappear, leaving a threatening woman to deal with despite her 'fragile' appearance. Because of this, a person usually only underestimates Lily once. The companion to being ruled by her temper means she does tend to think with her feelings or her rich imagination, sometimes trusting her intuitions and perceptions despite facts or logic. Never especially tolerant of hateful behavior, she frequently objected to the way the Gryffindor boys in her year treated others and that matured into a greater worldview of how wizards and witches treated each other, forged further by war. She has no qualms about vocally asserting her opinion and, at times, can be a bit preachy about her beliefs. She often gives as well as she gets, which meant she could usually hold her own among the band of testosterone that was so often a part of her adult life. Years of war forced all those in it to grow up faster than they might have otherwise, but this was especially true of Lily, turning those impulsive habits of championing the lesser-heard voices into a focus for the world she wanted to fight for, the kind of world she wanted for the several children she and James planned to have. She is ambitious and willing to work very hard – and do anything necessary, which was a trait that others noticed in her, even when the Sorting Hat put her firmly into Gryffindor – to reach her own goals and can be a bit obsessive about the attainment of said goals. It is Lily who sees to all the little details when other neglect them, the planner when her emotions aren't making her the impulsive one. STRENGTHS: WEAKNESSES: LIKES: The Beatles. Girly alcoholic drinks. The colors green and yellow. Roses. Daffodils. Flying. Billards. DISLIKES: Celestina Warbeck. Hard liquors. Bludgers. MENTAL HEALTH: PHOBIAS/FEARS: James or Harry's death; mild claustrophobia; SEXUAL PREFERENCE: Heterosexual. TURN ONS: Playfulness. Messy hair. Arrogance, if it's backed by a good heart. TURN OFFS: CHILDHOOD HOME: HISTORY: Born the second daughter to Roger and Georgina Evans, two completely normal Muggles, Lily would eventually set herself apart as something more than a 'completely normal Muggle', as she would later learn the term. As any sibling relationship, there were many ups and downs between Lily and Petunia, but she loved 'Tuney' very much and let most of her sister's less admirable attitudes roll off her, even when Petunia asserted older sister superiority. Petunia was family and thus one of the people to which Lily was most loyal. Before she received the letter that would predict the next seven years of her education, Lily made friends with a boy named Severus Snape, one who had recognized that the tricks she could do – jumping off swings without falling hard, making plucked flowers move – were the signs of a Muggleborn witch. From Severus, she gained a friendship and learned much of what the wizarding world was about, accourding to him. And then, as he predicted, someone came one day to explain to the Evans family about Lily's abilities and her placement on the list of students destined to attend Hogwarts. Though initially baffled, her parents were overjoyed by Lily's gift, and all it would open up for her, but Petunia was jealous and resentful, the rift widening when Lily revealed she had found Dumbledore's response to a letter written asking to be allowed to go to Hogwarts too. Had Lily been able to, she would have taken Petunia with her right then, but the magic that resided within Lily and not Petunia made that want impossible. Her first impression of the Gryffindor boys, especially James and Sirius, was far from favorable and that disapproval and dislike continued through the next few years. Lily and Severus continued to be best friends, and so yet another individual to whom Lily was loyal to and would defend, despite her concerns about the company he kept. Lily gained a spot as prefect, something she was giddily thrilled about for a long time because she placed a great importance on the role. Unable to resist the chance to try and make the school around her better, the Marauders were an increasing irritation, both in their hijinx and their continued targeting of her best friend. By all in Lily's life would not remain how it had been for those first four years, as her concern for Severus grew and her worry his friends were changing him exponentially more because of that concern. Though she continually brushed off the warning signs, she was forced to face the truth of all of it when Severus uttered the dreaded 'Mudblood'. It wasn't the insult itself, in the end, that brought on the rift as much as it was the insult making her open her eyes to everything she had so long defended or denied, facing the realization that Severus wanted to be one of the Death Eaters. This wasn't to say that the insult didn't hurt her to the core, as it did, thinking her friend saw her, as well as all others of her blood, as unworthy, but it wasn't simply pique that ended their friendship. Though devastated, she parted ways with Severus, selfishly hoping that the act might make him 'see reason'. It never did. Though she mourned the loss of their friendship, Lily still had other friends and was able to find her way to the other side of her pain. Academically, she continued to excel, including gaining the attention of her Potions professor, Slughorn, and securing herself a place among his Slug Club. Though she recognized his desire to collect students who would be noteworthy, the man gained a spot in Lily's soft heart. As always, she continued to be pursued by James Potter, a boy who she would call arrogant and prat-like at every turn, because his behaviour – even if not evil like the Slytherin boys actions – was still mean spirited. But events in their sixth year changed that, learning he had saved Severus. It forced another confrontation between her and Severus, one that only ended in more anger and upset, but it marked a change in Lily's assessment of James. Immature and cruel as boys can be, perhaps, but not nearly so bad. By her seventh year, she began to truly notice, despite her best intentions not to do so, the change in James. As Head Girl and Head Boy, they were put together far more than Lily would have allowed in years before, allowing her to see firsthand the maturity he had gained, something not offputting as his childish pranks and badly-spirited troublemaking was – of course, there were still those things, but she was able to see beyond them. His years of persistence, now accompanied by moments where he was less arrogant and more uncertain, paid off and not only did he win a date with her, he eventually won her heart. Even then, Lily didn't entirely grasp she was gaining a brood of boys, not just a boyfriend, then fiancé and later husband, but she found all four had their good qualities that served to forge friendships between her and them of their own accord, as individuals. The war was never far from them, even inside the school, as the future sides the students would join were chosen while still in classes with each other. Some were easily labeled potential Death Eaters while others were marked as Aurors and the 'white hat' types and Lily knew which side she would be on, even before she, James and the rest were approached by Dumbledore close to graduation to join his 'secret' organization. A future set, the milestones approached and passed with speed, from skirmishes with Death Eaters that proved that Lily was far from a spectator in the war, or even a sidelines member of the Order, to her and James' marriage on September 30, 1978. Though she proved herself, Lily would be pulled from the heaviest fights after December 1979, when she learned she was pregnant. Not willingly, of course, as Lily still wanted to do her part, but to keep James from having massive panic attacks. The months passed slowly to Lily, a newlywed with a baby on the way in the middle of a war where people often lost their lives, but she was determined to make a life during it just the same. The Potter's cottage was often the site of boisterous gatherings of 'family' and friends and Lily thrived on it all. On July 31, 1980, after what she would always call a ridiculously long labor, she gave birth to their son, Harry James. But that bliss she tried so hard to build wouldn't last, when word came to them that Harry was a target of Voldemort. Then both Lily and James were pulled from the fight, months of seclusion that was only broken by short trips out under the invisibility cloak when James grew too stircrazy to stay cooped up. It was a test, not only of their lives, but of their marriage and their position as parents, further trial by fire that brought them closer much faster than any peacetime might have done. Still, Lily strove to give James and Harry as much happiness as she could, Harry a generally happy baby who brightened that dark part of their lives and their friends visitors whenever was possible. Even that would not last, ending with two flashes of green on the night of October 31, 1981, when Voldemort entered their home, murdered James and Lily gave her life while trying to save their son, that act of love his protection and the means to his survival, even while his parents perished. FAMILY: Parents: Roger Evans - father, Muggle, doctor; Georgina Evans - mother, Muggle, housewife; Siblings/in-law: Petunia Dursley née Evans - elder sister [b.19xx], Muggle; BLURB Spouse: James Potter - husband [m.1978] Gryffindor alumnus, Order member; BLURB Children/in-law: Harry James Potter - son [b.1980], Gryffindor alumnus; Ginevra Potter née Weasley - daughter-in-law, Gryffindor alumna; Nephews/Nieces: Dudley Dursley - nephew [b.19xx], Muggle; Grandchildren: James Sirius Potter - grandson [b.20xx], HOUSE alumnus; Albus Severus Potter - grandson [b.20xx], HOUSE alumnus; Lily Luna Potter - granddaughter [b.20xx], HOUSE alumna; BLURB TBD Extended family: Sirius Black - 'adopted' family member, Gryffindor alumnus; Though the arrogance she noted in James in their youth was just as evident in Sirius, this man was the brother James never had and as such she would have absorbed him into her family without hesitation. That, however, was not the only thing that endeared him to her and 'Padfoot' became just as much a brother to her as he was to James, loved as deeply she loved all those closest to her. Remus Lupin - 'adopted' family member, Gryffindor alumnus; The quietest of the four, it was Remus that Lily took to the easiest, finding in him a friend and companion even without the Marauder bond. 'Moony' was the one she fretted over the most, certainly loved and adored, but also just a bit coddled if he gave her any leeway to try, and sometimes even if he didn't. Peter Pettigrew - 'adopted' family member, Gryffindor alumnus; 'Wormy' was most often the one who roused Lily's sympathies, seeing him as the one who joined in because he simply wanted to have the others' friendship and thus wanting him to feel part of their chosen 'family'. FRIENDS: As the other three Marauders were consider family over simply friends, her friends numbered among old schoolmates and most of the members of the Order; formerly, Severus Snape Before they parted ways in their youth, Lily considered Severus her best friend. What eventually tore them apart was Lily being unable to continue to ignore the other friends Severus was making and those darker parts of him encouraged by those friendships. ENEMIES: Voldemort, namely, and Death Eaters secondarily. PAST RELATIONSHIPS: HOME: Before her death, a cottage in Godric's Hollow; now, FINANCES: OCCUPATION: PREFECTURE/HEADSHIP: Prefect, Head Girl. BLURB QUIDDITCH: Though Lily very much enjoys flying, is a boisterous spectator for Quidditch and is always game for a backyard match, she had an irrational mild fear of Bludgers that hampered any ability to play on a school team. O.W.L.s: N.E.W.T.s: SIGN: Gryffindor Aquarius Aquarius is the eleventh house of the Zodiac and rules the circulatory system, shins, and ankles. Positive traits include brilliance, innovation, individuality, openness, social consciousness, inventiveness, practical skill, and self assertion; negative traits are eccentricity, lack of attachment to people and the "real world," over-intellectualizing of the emotions, a crotchety temper, rigidity, intellectual arrogance, and stubbornness. Gryffindor Aquarians are the social activists and loons of their House. They'll picket for House Elf Liberation. They'll wear their robes inside out because they spent all night reading, not pay attention to how they dressed the next day, and not care if their rumpled appearance is pointed out to them. They are intellectual rebels and will loudly defend their opinions, even if doing so makes enemies. They are apt to question authority. "Even Merlin was wrong, some of the time," they'll say, shrugging. While not particularly good at dealing with crisis situations (they stress out easily) they do tend to have enough foresight to see the situations coming, and prevent them from happening in the first place. They can be flamboyantly talented, but are less interested in using their talent to "make it big" than in using it to make a better life for themselves or other people. Because Gryffindor tends to be a flamboyant house, these oddballs (they are always odd) tend to stick out for being unusual. SUN/MOON: Aquarius Sun - Pisces Moon The combination of your Sun sign and your Moon sign produces a mind that is very original and able to grasp the most vague, ethereal and extreme concepts. The blend mixes friendliness, originality and independence of Aquarius with the emotional sensitivity and imagination of Pisces. You are a person who is naturally persevering and conscientious, being interested in detail, method and order. Your way of reacting to the world is very interesting. You can spend days just dreaming and speculating. You are fascinated by the unusual and the abstract, finding it interesting to take up studies in any number of bazaar topics. Loving to read and study, you may become very well informed on a wide variety of subjects. You lean heavily on your hunches and way out ideas, and you're easily distracted from routine work. You dream a lot and you have an utter faith in the dreams you dream. Your mind can get so far afield on some vaguely related tangent that you may even forget what the task at hand originally was. Your perceptions are so vividly acute that it is often not practical to pay attention to all of them. You live a private life of your own, into which few others ever penetrate. A keen imagination or a sort of mental vision allows you to be good money-maker in a variety of fields; you seem to be able to intuitively realize possibilities and take advantage of them. You success relies on talent and intelligence since you don't project a particularly strong leadership personality. There is a tendency for you to let things drift. At times you should display a more forceful will, but by and large you develop a very pronounced prudence and sense of caution. You can benefit in overcoming or controlling a tendency to accept things in a passive way, or in being too friendly and obliging if others incline to take advantage of your good nature.
